FAQS

What is polyaspartic coating?
Polyaspartic coating is made of aliphatic polyurea. It is a solid coating that cures quickly and gives the appearance of a shiney, continuous floor (without seams). It is extremely durable and with additives can be made non-slip. Polyaspartic coatings are corrosion-resistant and work well when used over metal too. Its durability also makes it a good choice for various flooring uses, especially commercial flooring and garages.
What is the difference between Polyaspartic 85 and traditional Epoxy?
Epoxy is similar to Polyaspartic 85 in some ways. They are both a good option for floor coatings. Our Polyaspartic 85 is very easy to use and has a two part sealer. Epoxy can take up to 16 hours to completely cure. Polyaspartic 85, on the other hand, can take only two hours, thickly it is applied and the size of the surface that is covered making it ideal for a fast turnaround for businesses.
Can you put polyaspartic over epoxy?
Polyaspartic coating can be applied over existing epoxy as long as the epoxy has firmly adhered to the substrate surface. Polyaspartic coating serves as a sealant. It dries quickly, often within an hour or two, and will provide a solid, extremely durable surface that will protect what is underneath.
How do you install polyaspartic floor coating?
Polyaspartic floor coating is typically poured then spread with a large squeegee, metal blade, or even a high quality roller. The surface to be covered must be dry and not emit any moisture. "Once you start applying the coating, you will need to move at a steady pace in sections., keeping a wet edge."

  1. Floor Creations

I tested this new Polyaspartic on a small commercial bathroom over quartz. It was very easy to work with, had no smell, and has held up very well. This is about the best priced coating like this I have come across but it performs better than what I am used to. 5 stars.

  2. Greag Beavers

I am now back to using polyaspartics to topcoat my chip floors. This is way easier to use than the older generations of this type of sealer. I ruined a few floors in the past with materials that set off too soon. This one lets me dip and roll from the pan until I am done without flashing. I can recoat in about 4 hours and that is good with me. Price seemed very fair

  3. Stanly Garages

We started using this topcoat this past summer when we found another local installer using it. It works great for us so far. Plenty of time to get it down. It flows a lot which is different from the others we have been used to. We just spread it with a squeegee and backroll out and edges. They state 4-6 hours to dry but we find we can walk on or recoat in 3 usually. Perfect for us.

  4. Craig Tyler-Tyler Garage

Great product. This is far better than the smith poly we have been using. This smell is tolerable and I see less microbubbles. We are in FL so I guess it is common with humidity. These guys figured it out I guess. 4 stars because shipping took 10 days. Keep better stock.

  5. Frank Taborella

Hello. Excellent product, glad I found this. We do thousands of sq feet of industrial shop concrete sealing monthly and this has been a great find. WE juut replaced the current poly we were using with walttools one and now save about 20% on every job now. That generously helps the bottom line and get more competitive in pricing. Thanks for the quick service.

  6. Mike Miller

I have found a polyaspartic that does not make me cringe. I love the idea of speed but speed kills too many floors for me. This gave me a good half hour working time and I still got back on after 4 hrs. No roller marks, hooray!

  7. Clint Donold

We do a lot of grind, stain and seals in basements and garages. We used to use acrylics but they don’t last, especially in garages. Don in Customer service convinced me to try the poly instead. We dig it. It is not smelly, cures quick, gives better coverage than acrylics so the higher cost almost evens out. Floors months old still look new.

  8. Zach and Sons LTD

My favorite polyaspartic so far. The low viscosity makes it very easy to spread and it penetrates well. It is not much different than an acrylic sealer but almost 90 percent solids. It cures pretty quick but we have used faster ones, which really causes problems. Good all around coating.

  9. Richard Marks

We tried using this for metallics. Great on small areas but it turned out to be too fast in a garage so we will stick with epoxy. WE do like it for a top coat on chipped floors though. Quick.
